Harry Potter works his magic at midnight

Posted by Dan Stasiewski On July - 15 - 2009

Wow. That’s about the only way to react to the record $22 million Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince pulled in from midnight showings last night. That’s bigger than Transformers. Bigger than Star Wars. And yes, even bigger than The Dark Knight.

Anticipation for the sixth Potter film, originally scheduled to open last fall, has been bigger than ever. With no film or novel for two years, Potter fans, including myself, were eagerly awaiting out next chance to indulge in the Wizarding World.

I’ve spent the day marathoning the last few movies in preparation for seeing the lastest Potter film tonight. Something tells me I’ll need to get to the theater early. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is going to be HUGE.
