Posters: Ryan Gosling in DRIVE and Jason Statham in SAFE
There’s going to be plenty of action this fall. Film District’s Drive, starring Ryan Gosling, hits theaters on Sept. 30 and Lionsgate’s Safe, starring Jason Statham, is set for release on Oct. 28. The distributors just released posters for the upcoming films. Check ’em out:
Drive Synopsis:
Ryan Gosling stars as a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for armed heists by night. Though a loner by nature, Driver can’t help falling in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan), a vulnerable young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband Standard (Oscar Isaac).
After a heist intended to pay off Standard’s protection money spins unpredictably out of control, Driver finds himself driving defense for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals (Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman). But when he realizes that the gangsters are after more than the bag of cash in his trunk-that they’re coming straight for Irene and her son-Driver is forced to shift gears and go on offense.
While Drive might seem like just another heist picture, the film comes from Danish helmer Nicolas Winding Refn who has wowed audiences with Brosnon, which stars The Dark Knight Rising‘s Tom Hardy.
Safe Synopsis:
In the movie from writer-director Boaz Yakin, Statham portrays a former elite operative who must protect an adolescent girl (played by Catherine Chan) from the bad guys. The cast also includes Chris Sarandon, Robert John Burke, Reggie Lee, Danny Hoch and James Hong.
Which of these two fall action films are you going to see?
Ryan Gosling FTW. Just can’t say no to him!
I did see “Crazy Stupid Love” for him, so no arguments from me.
Looking forward to Safe. Great posters!
