Supes! Zod! Jor-El! New MAN OF STEEL Character Posters
If you read my rant on why I hate The Dark Knight Rises, then you understand my skepticism at the prospect of a Nolan-produced Superman movie. But at every turn—a new trailer, new images—that skepticism is being challenged. Now comes a set of character posters featuring Superman, General Zod and Jor-El that make me excited despite my better judgement. Check ’em out: via Superman: Man of Steel...

Jason Reitman is reteaming with Diablo Cody for Young Adult, which stars Charlize Theron as a YA lit author who returns to her hometown in an attempt to reconnect with her high school sweetheart (played by Patrick Wilson). Sounds like a Cody screenplay for sure. But the last time we sat through a film with her pop-tastic dialog things didn’t work out so well. (Remember Jennifer’s Body?) I’m a firm believer that Cody needs Reitman to make a coherent film out of her script. Up in the Air proved that Reitman was just as responsible for Juno‘s success as Cody, who won an Oscar for the screenplay. When the pair explore contemporary American archetypes together, it works out for everyone: the director, the writer, and the audience. Check out the poster: Young Adult, directed by Jason Reitman and starring Charlize...

Fox Searchlight just released posters for Sean Durkin’s upcoming thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene. The film follows a woman who escapes from a cult and returns to her family, only to be haunted by her experience. It’s also Durkin’s feature debut, but he’s credited as a producer on Antonio Campos’ Haneke-esque prep school drama Afterschool (which if you haven’t seen, you should.) Here’s the one-sheet, which is stirring enough: And then there’s the motion poster, which is creepy as hell (AHH! John Hawkes!): And in case you missed it, here’s the trailer: Martha Marcy May Marlene, directed by Sean Durkin and starring Elizabeth Olsen, Hugh Dancy, John Hawkes and Sarah Paulson, opens Oct....

Yes, friends, Justin Timberlake is a movie star. While you may not have enjoyed (or even seen) Bad Teacher or Friends with Benefits, you can’t deny that anyone who has a year like JT’s has hit it big. (Appearing in The Social Network last year, didn’t hurt either.) Justin’s 2011 comes to a close in October when he stars in In Time. The high-concept sci-fi film from director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca and writer of The Truman Show) looks like Logan’s Run meets Robin Hood, which should make genre fans happy. This futuristic class warfare thriller also has a lot of hot people in it, which makes everyone happy. In Time, directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Justin Timberlake, Cillian Murphy, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Alex Pettyfer, and Matt Bomer, opens Oct....
