Read MoreIs Marvel Developing An Agent Carter TV Series?
Are Marvel One Shots just pilots for TV series? If the latest internet rumors prove true, then the answer may be “yes.” According to Deadline, Marvel is quietly developing a series based on Agent Peggy Carter, who you may recall as Steve Rogers’ handler in Captain America. The news comes just as Agent Carter is about to receive the Marvel One Shot treatment on the Iron Man 3 Bluray release. That short film follows Carter’s work as a fledgling secret agent after Captain America disappears into thick ice. Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time a One Shot indirectly influenced the production of a series. Last year’s Item 47, featuring S.H.I.E.L.D., was followed up by the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now this year’s One Shot, Agent Carter, may be followed with a show of its own. Plus, given Marvel’s lack of female leads, a Carter series...
Read MoreFinal Two BREAKING BAD Episodes Get Extended Runtimes
Just when you thought there were only two hours of Breaking Bad left, AMC comes along and gives us just a little bit more. The final two episodes, airing Sept. 22 and Sept. 29, will both be extended to 75 minutes each with commercials. Writer/producer Peter Gould took to Twitter yesterday let BB addicts know the good news: I checked & it’s official. Last 2 #BreakingBad eps are 75 minutes each w/commercials. Set your DVRS accordingly. Better still, watch live! — petergould (@petergould) September 18, 2013 The final episodes have certainly used every single one of their 60-minutes so far, with longer pauses in action to build up the tension and anxiety around key events. Having the season itself cut in half and extended has allowed the showrunners to take their time putting together scenarios that would have been rushed in the standard...
Read MoreFirst Look At Michael Jai White As The Bronze Tiger In ARROW
DC anti-hero the Bronze Tiger will make his Arrow debut in the second episode of season two. And thanks to TV Guide, we have our first look at Michael Jai White as the martial arts master. The Bronze Tiger’s motivations are simple, according to showrunner Marc Guggenheim: “He’s basically the best of the best, so he has come to Starling City to see if the Hood can give him a challenge… To that end, he has aligned himself with China White [Kelly Hu] and the Chinese Triad.” In DC mythology, the Bronze Tiger is a longstanding member of the Suicide Squad, a team of incarcerated supervillains who work for the government. The team is also often lead by Amanda Waller, who will also make her Arrow debut in the sixth episode of season two. And according to executive producer Andrew...
Read MoreDavid Hasselhoff Thought His Nick Fury Was Better Than Sam Jackson’s, Quickly Realizes It Wasn’t
How do you very quickly get the geekosphere to rise up against you? Suggest you’re better than Samuel L. Jackson. That’s kind of what David Hasselhoff insinuated in an interview with Yahoo. The man who played Nick Fury in the 1998 telefilm Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.E.I.L.D. tried to tip-toe around it, but when asked, he obviously thought his Nick Fury was better than Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury in the Marvel movies. “You know, it wasn’t Nick Fury,” he said. “They take these shows and they make it the way they want to make it and unfortunately, they should have had Stan Lee on the set and let him kick him into gear – whoever directed [Avengers] decided they wanted to go that way. But it’s their prerogative. He’s still a great actor.” Two quick lessons here: Don’t ever suggest that...
Read MoreGLEE’s Grant Gustin is ARROW’s The Flash
Arrow creators have their Flash. Grant Gustin, who played the devious Sebastian on FOX’s Glee, will don the lightning bolts when the Flash to the Arrow-verse on the eighth episode of the upcoming season. Gustin beat out two other rumored contenders, Matthew Barr and James MacKay, for the coveted role, which is planned to have its own stand alone series after launching on Arrow. Like Ben Affleck, Gustin wasn’t on my short or long list, but hey, I loved his Sebastian on Glee. He’s got the look even if he seems a tad young for the part. I don’t think a 23-year-old Barry Allen would even have a Masters Degree, let alone a PhD, but hey, it’s the CW. Once you get above 35, the only role for you on that network is a...
