“Around here, darkness lives on both sides of the law.”

Next year, HBO will probably be able to promo its Southern Gothic detective series True Detective with “starring Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey.” But until then, just knowing two of the most unjustly underrated working actors join forces with the equally ignored director Cary Fukunaga (Sin NombreJane Eyre) for Nic Pizzolatto’s True Detectives will be enough.

The show will follow these two detectives through 17 years of  interweaving timelines as they hunt for a Louisiana serial killer. Sounds like The Killing‘s third season, except interesting.
