X-FILES Creator Chris Carter Is Developing A New Show At AMC
Former X-Files writer and producer Vince Gilligan is wrapping up Breaking Bad at AMC, but it looks like the man who created the groundbreaking sci-fi series will be stepping in to fill the network’s apparently required X-Files alum position. Chris Carter, who created The X-Files, is developing a show at the cable network that revolves around… well… who knows. In an interview with the Vulture, Carter mentioned that it’s based on a book that AMC execs handed to him and owes to The X-Files. That’s about as specific as Carter would get, but he did have this to say about the direction of the show: “I think that I am treading on some of this interesting ground that Bradley Manning, Edward Snowden, and Julian Assange have uncovered for us.” Another resource he’s drawing from is his cable-news addiction, which currently keeps him up at night....
Read MoreWalt Hid His Money Where? Those BREAKING BAD Coordinates Actually Lead To…
In Sunday’s episode of Breaking Bad, Walter White hid a few million dollars somewhere in the New Mexico desert to avoid his DEA brother-in-law from connecting his cash to his crimes. And he buried his fives, twenties, tens and Bens at +34° 59′ 20.00″, -106° 36′ 52″ Over /Film, writer Angie Han points out that those coordinates aren’t actually in the desert at all. Instead they end up here: View on Google MapsSo what’s so spectacular about Mesa Del Sol Innovation Park? I just happens to be the home of Albuquerque Studios, where Breaking Bad is shot. And this, my friends, is a perfect example of why I love Gilligan so much. It’s the same thing that allowed him to make some of best X-Files episodes. No matter how dark his shows get, he always has that off-beat sense of...
Read MoreARROW Producer Talks THE FLASH And The Potential For A Shared DC Universe
One of the biggest pieces of geek news to come out of TCA was that the Arrow producers were going to bring Barry Allen’s Flash into the series and then spin him off into his own show. And there were big questions after the announcement. Is this part of a larger DC Cinematic Universe? Or is it simply part of the CW’s we-know-what-the-hell-we’re-doing-verse? In talking with Comic Book Resources, Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim shed some light on his vision and comparisons to the Marvel-verse, at least for the small screen world: “I think a lot of people are justified in asking ‘What does this mean for Arrow in terms of its tone?’ And my answer is that the trick that we have – and this is a challenge we’ve discusses a lot and have an awareness of how to face it head on – is...
Read MoreRecap: It’s Walt Vs. Hank in BREAKING BAD “Blood Money” (S5E09)
TV doesn’t get much better than Sunday’s Breaking Bad. And Sunday’s Breaking Bad is a prime example of why this series, now in its final episodes, is one of the greatest in TV history. Nothing big happens, nothing explosive. But there’s an increasingly ominous tone to the entire episode that positions the series, and its characters, for a very dark conclusion. The episode has four things that happen really. One is a flash forward of Walt returning to his presumably seized home to get a vile of ricin. Then the show moves back to the present and Jesse looks about one bad day away from packing it all in. Hank is overcome by the idea that Walt, his rather docile, Cancer-stricken brother-in-law, is actually the murderous Heisenberg he’s been looking for. And then there’s Skyler, who confronts Lydia Rodarte-Quayle...

Fewer words are more exciting than “Bryan Fuller’s SyFy pilot,” at least to TV geekdom. Fuller, who has produced some of the best, most short-lived series of the past decade, never seems to be at a loss for work despite a history of low-rated cult shows. And while his Hannibal is bound to be gutted by NBC after next season, we have another project of his moving ahead that we can look forward to. The Office‘s Chris Diamantopoulos (pictured left) and Easy A‘s Jake Sandvig (pictured right) have been cast as the leads in Fuller’s upcoming SyFy drama High Noon. The show tells the story of a future where all the countries in the world have come together to mine the moon’s resources. But once new signs of life are discovered on the moon, well, things don’t go as planned. Diamantopoulos plays...
Read MoreThere’s A GLEE Stage Musical In The Works, Which Is Totally A Great Idea
Remember way back when Moulin Rouge! was a hit? The next logical step for that movie was to take it to the stage. One short German touring production later and that adaptation seems to be dead. Wel,l 21st Century Fox Television doesn’t seem to be content with 20th Century Fox’s failed stage musical experiment because now it appear that Glee could be coming to a stage near you. According to The Wrap, 21st Century Fox Television chairman and CEO Gary Newman revealed plans for the musical recently saying: “We launched a live stage business with a sold-out arena concert tour in 2011, and now a live stage musical is in the works.” Glee does have one thing Moulin Rouge! didn’t have, which is experience with live performances. Of course, Glee isn’t the show it was when the live concerts were going around the country....
